Benedictine Health Foundation Mission
The Mission of Benedictine Health Foundation, Inc. is to enhance the quality of medical care for the citizens of Ulster County.. Benedictine HealthFoundation shall be the main fund raising organization for Benedictine Hospital.
Supporting Benedictine Hospital
”Care of the sick must rank above and before all else, so that they may truly be served as Christ.” -Rule of St. Benedict
At Benedictine Hospital, each of us strives to offer the highest level of service and patient care to our whole community, including the underserved and uninsured.
The year 2008 proved to be another remarkable year of both growth and change at Benedictine Hospital. We celebrated the grand opening of the new Herbert H. and Sophia P. Reuner Cancer Support House, and as part of Benedictine Hospital’s nationally accredited cancer program, the Hospital completed renovations and dedicated the Sister Louise Garley Oncology Unit. Through the generosity of the Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund, we continue to provide vital assistance to cancer patients and their families. To better serve the Ulster County community and offer the best practice in quality healthcare, we moved forward with the affiliation of Benedictine Hospital, The Kingston Hospital, and Margaretville Hospital, forming a new parent corporation, HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley. While HealthAlliance oversees the consolidation of Hospital services and revenue streams, it also ensures that Benedictine Hospital will continue to serve its mission as a Catholic-based Hospital.
The future will present new opportunities and challenges as we expand services and undergo construction and renovations. Support of these vital services is made through the Benedictine Health Foundation. Your gift to the Foundation will directly support the work and mission of Benedictine Hospital. Funds granted are used to purchase state of the art medical equipment and facilities, assist cancer patients with products and services not covered by insurance, provide free or low-cost medical and social programs to improve the quality of life for people in our community, and fund continuing educational opportunities for our healthcare professionals in response to our community’s most pressing needs.
There are many ways that you can contribute. Each link on this page connects you with an opportunity for you to make a difference in healthcare for your friends, family and neighbors.
Thank you for your support,
